Designing Active Filters Using Op-Amps

Objective
In this tutorial lesson, first you design second-order lowpass, highpass and bandpass Sallen-Key active filters. Then, you will cascade two second-order lowpass filters to design fourth-order Butterworth and Chebyshev lowpass filters. You will also learn how to define custom plots.
Designing a Second-Order Active Lowpass Filter
The following is a list of parts needed for this part of the tutorial lesson:
DC Voltage Source VCC: 15V
DC Voltage Source VEE: -15V
AC Voltage Source: V1
LM741 Op-Amp: Accessible form "Parts > Integrated Circuits" menu
Two Resistors: R1 and R2
Two Capacitors: C1 and C2
The basic second-order lowpass Sallen-Key active filter is shown in the above figure. The transfer function of this filter is given by:
