JOB TITLE: RF ELECTRONIC RESEARCH ENGINEER
Job Description:
Design, fabricate, test, and characterize Si and GaAs micromachined devices including: MEMS, microfluidic, and RF. Generate layout designs for mask generation. Research and development in anodic and thermocompression wafer bonding, standard wet IC chemistries, RIE and DRIE, photolithography, metal deposition processes, SEM microscopy and metrology/characterization of RF devices. Comfortable developing and following fabrication processes and designs incorporating the above.
Requirements:
- MSEE
- One Year Experience
Courses must have included one each of:
- Plasma processing
- Fundamentals of MEMS
- Advanced Microfabrication of Semiconductor Devices

Job Description:
EMAG Technologies Inc., a high-tech company specializing in integrated RF front-end solutions, is looking for dynamic Research Engineers. The successful candidates will be a part of a high-energy team of engineers working in the areas of Micromachining, RF Integrated Circuit Design and Microwave Circuit Design. This is a full-time position with full benefits, available immediately. Multiple positions with this job description are available at Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. levels which involve fabrication, and testing of high frequency circuits, specifically:
- Working with a team of RF engineers for designing, fabricating, and testing Si and GaAs micromachined RF circuits (wafer-scale antennas, filters, RF MEMS, RF MEMS varactors, and other passive and active MMIC)
- Complete layout designs for mask generation
- Following existing and developing new fabrication processes for Si and GaAs micromachined components
Requirements:
Candidates should also possess one or more of the following:- B.S. degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience or a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Sciences, or similar
- Fabrication experience in the University of Michigan MNF/SSEL clean room
- Familiarity with wet chemical processing, wet/dry wafer etching, lithography, metal deposition (evaporation, sputtering, electroplating), thin-film deposition, wafer bonding
- Experience with the use of microscopes, SEM, Dektak and other wafer testing equipment
- Ability to follow already existing and develop new fabrication processes
- Use of layout design tools: IC Station, AutoCAD, ADS
- Experience with probe stations and vector network analyzers is desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and planning skills are essential

- Working with a team of RF engineers for designing, fabricating, and testing Si and GaAs micromachined RF circuits (wafer-scale antennas, filters, RF MEMS, RF MEMS varactors, and other passive and active MMIC)
- Design, analysis and optimization of Si and GaAs micromachined components using HFSS, ADS, and Momentum
- Complete layout designs for mask generation
Requirements:
Candidates should also possess one or more of the following:- M.S. degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong background in electromagnetics, antenna theory and microwave circuit design
- Previous work in analysis and design of active RFIC (mixers, LNA, PA, diodes), passive MMIC (filters, RF MEMS, phase shifters, interconnects), and antennas
- Experience in analyzing electromagnetic structures using FEM, FDTD, MoM
- Knowledge of Ansoft HFSS, Agilent ADS, Agilent Momentum is preferred
- Use of layout design tools: IC Station, AutoCAD, ADS
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and planning skills are essential
